Our purpose

APIX is purpose-built to transform and simplify the collaboration journey between financial institutions (FI) and fintechs. We are the first cross-border, open-architecture, collaborative innovation platform with sandbox and API marketplace capabilities.

As the bridge that connects FIs and fintechs like no one else can, our dynamic ecosystem aims to accelerate innovation and digital transformation, thus unlocking endless possibilities to craft stronger value propositions. APIX allows FIs to search for and discover innovative, digital solutions from fintechs and then rapidly design, experiment and deploy these solutions.

Our roots

During the 2016 Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), the Chief FinTech Officer of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and officials from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank Group discussed ways to aid the rapid digital transformation of emerging market FIs to drive financial inclusion. Amidst casual conversation with scribblings on coffeeshop napkins, the seeds of APIX were planted.

In 2018, MAS, IFC, and the ASEAN Bankers Association (ABA) established a non-profit organisation to foster innovation and collaboration between FIs and Fintechs. The launch of the APIX platform was announced at SFF 2018 and the first version was showcased at SFF 2019.

Our evolution

APIX has since rapidly evolved, empowering fintech innovations for seamless adoption by FIs. With successful launches of hackathons, industry collaborations and a thriving user base, APIX has added immense value to the global financial services ecosystem and was thus ready to further scale and evolve.

In 2022, APIX transitioned to Synfindo, a new company supported by investors including the LemmaTree Group (founded by Temasek) and Mastercard.
