The ASEAN Financial Innovation Network (AFIN) was established as a non-profit organization in 2018 by the ASEAN Bankers Association (ABA), International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). AMTD Foundation and Mastercard are AFIN’s Corporate Founding Members.
AFIN was set up with the mission to facilitate innovation and cooperation between financial institutions and FinTechs, in effort to digitally transform the banking and financial sectors across the ASEAN region and beyond to ultimately drive financial inclusion. It brings together financial industry participants to Discover, Design and Deploy innovative digital solutions within a collaborative ecosystem.
To support this mission, AFIN has launched the API Exchange (APIX). APIX is the world’s first cross-border, open architecture API marketplace and sandbox platform for collaboration between FinTechs and financial institutions in which participants can integrate and test solutions with each other via a cloud-based architecture.
Paul is a director on the board of the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network and represents ASEAN Banker Association.

Damien is a director on the board of the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network representing Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Damien is also the Deputy Chief FinTech Officer and concurrently heads the FinTech Infrastructure Office as well as the FinTech Ecosystem Office at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
Supriya is an independent director on the board of the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network.
Supriya is a former banker with over 28 years of experience in the Banking and Financial Services industry in India, China, South East Asia and the Middle East. Currently she is Senior Advisor at Mckinsey & Co based in Singapore.
Rama is a director on the board of ASEAN Financial Innovation Network representing Mastercard.
Rama is the Executive Vice President of Digital & Emerging Partnerships, New Payment Flows, Asia Pacific Mastercard. Her passion for creating businesses to achieve profitable and high growth trajectories has continued through her 30-year career across Technology, Financial Services and Payments industries. As a seasoned woman executive, she is also involved in mentoring high potential talent for future leadership and advising start-ups in establishing growth businesses.
Calvin is a director on the board of the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network representing AMTD Foundation.
Calvin Choi is the Chairman and CEO of AMTD Group, and the Founder and Chairman of AMTD Foundation. Calvin currently serves as a board director of Bank of Qingdao Co., Ltd., Vice Chairman of Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, Honourable President of Hong Kong Army Cadets Association, and Vice President of Hong Kong Federation of Professions.
Sangeet Paul Choudary is a globally recognized expert on platform business models, with experiences advising the leadership of over 30 of the Fortune 500 firms on platform strategy. He is acknowledged as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, the youngest recipient of the IIMB Distinguished Alumnus Award and has been a member of the WEF's Global Future Council on Platforms and Systems and the co-chair of the MIT Platform Strategy Summit. He is also a frequent keynote speaker at leading global forums.
Pieter is an independent advisor on board of ASEAN Financial Innovation Network.
Pieter is a FinTech veteran for more than 25 years, specializing in open innovation and large-scale digital transformations. Pieter co-founded Safecast.org and is also currently a Senior Advisor to the Monex Group, a guest professor at Keio University, an affiliate researcher at MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative.
Neil is an independent advisor on board of the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network.
Neil is a Partner and Head of Asia, Australia & New Zealand at Tikehau Capital. Prior to his current position, Neil was General Manager, Asia for National Australia Bank. He benefits from more than 30 years of global experience in the financial services industry in the Asia Pacific region, US and Europe with senior roles with Bank of America, Société Générale and DBS. Neil contributes his time as the Chairman of the advisory committee for the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Singapore, as a member of the Governing Council of the Singapore Institute of Directors as well as serving on the advisory committee for James Cook University, Singapore. Neil previously served as the vice-chairman of SICCI, a member of the Governing Council of the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) and as a board director of Nautilus Insurance and TiE Singapore.
Steven is an independent advisor on board of the ASEAN Financial Innovation Network.
Steven is Professor Emeritus of Information Systems, Singapore Management University. Before retiring from SMU, he was a faculty member and senior administrator for over 17 years. Prior to joining SMU, Steve worked in industry for over 13 years in a variety of IT and Ops-Tech senior roles. Prior to his years in industry, Steven was a faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University where his research and teaching focused on applications of robotics and computer-integrated manufacturing, and impacts on productivity, job roles and labour requirements. He is also the founder and principal consultant of Hybrid Intelligence Advisory in Singapore.
Manish is the Managing Director at ASEAN Financial Innovation Network.
Manish has worked in the financial services industry for nearly 20 years across lending, digital banking and payments in India and Vietnam before joining AFIN.
The Strategic Advisory Council (SAC) consists of industry leaders that support the overall development of AFIN and APIX. The SAC will advise the board on matters ranging from technology to global expansion and support AFIN in its journey in using APIX to promote the broader adoption of financial technology innovations for financial inclusion across ASEAN and beyond.
The APIX Platform was made possible with a consortium providing their knowledge and expertise to aid in developing and managing the platform. The consortium consists of three core companies: Percipient Pte, Fidor Solutions and Brankas.
